Leadership

RIC Leadership Structure

The leadership of RIC is composed of several key groups, each playing a vital role in guiding the organization and ensuring its continued success.

Sustaining Members

There are six Sustaining Members who hold permanent seats on the Board. These seats are reserved for the companies that have been RIC’s most dedicated supporters since its inception. Their ongoing commitment provides RIC with stable and experienced leadership.

Directors-at-Large

In addition to the Sustaining Members, the Board includes six Directors-at-Large. These positions are open to employees of any Full Member company, allowing for broad representation and diverse perspectives. Directors-at-Large are elected to serve two-year terms, ensuring fresh input and rotation of leadership within the organization.

Immediate Past Chair

To promote continuity and offer guidance to new leaders, the Immediate Past Chair holds an automatic seat on the Board for a two-year term. This role is filled by the former Chair, providing valuable experience and stability during leadership transitions.

Officers of RIC

Officers of RIC are elected from among the members of the Board and are chosen by a vote of the Board itself. The officers of RIC are central to the organization's governance, each holding distinct responsibilities that contribute to effective leadership and operational integrity.

  • Chair: The Chair leads the Board, presiding over its meetings and providing strategic direction for the organization as a whole. This role ensures that Board activities are aligned with RIC’s mission and goals.
  • Vice Chair: Serving as a key support to the Chair, the Vice Chair assists in leadership duties and assumes the Chair’s responsibilities when the Chair is unavailable. This arrangement guarantees continuity in leadership and decision-making.
  • Treasurer: The Treasurer is entrusted with overseeing all financial matters, including the development of budgets and the preparation of financial reports. This officer is vital in upholding RIC’s fiscal responsibility and transparency.
  • Secretary: The Secretary manages RIC’s official records, maintains meeting minutes, and handles organizational correspondence. This role ensures that proper documentation and communication are consistently maintained.
  • Immediate Past Chair: After serving as Chair, this officer continues to contribute by offering advice and guidance to the current leadership. Drawing on prior experience, the Immediate Past Chair helps facilitate smooth transitions and supports organizational continuity.
